Almost free. I've paid $US 10 to $US 15 for a 9-CD set of Red Hat Linux to
sellers on eBay. It is as easy to set up, possibly easier than Windows, for typical desktop use. .... Ben Myers On Fri, 28 Jan 2005 21:30:19 +1300, Andrew Colville wrote: Ben Myers wrote: Linux... From personal experience: never I have I spent so much time trying to learn
to use anything only to come away completely and utterly frustrated than I did with Linux. All the major distros; three different computers. Use only if you have infinite patience. Good OS for servers, I would imagine. ben_myers_spam_me_not @ charter.net (Ben Myers) wrote in message ... Almost free. I've paid $US 10 to $US 15 for a 9-CD set of Red Hat Linux to sellers on eBay. In many ways, you're right. But satisfaction with Linux all depends on the
amount of experience one has. Easy to use for veterans of long-ago computer wars, though. .... I really like Mandrake Linux for beginners, and Vector Linux for older
hardware. You need to be a bit *nix savy for Vectot, though. |
