Default Largest Hard Drive for Armada 1700?

Any one know the largest hard drive and partition size I can use in this
Armada 1700 6266/T/4000/D/M/1?

It now has a 4 gig and I would like to double that or more.

Thanks,
Clark

Clark,

I have an Armada 1750 which originally had a 4 gig drive. I replaced it with
10 gig and it worked fine. Even if you put a larger drive in, it will still
work, but the computer will only see the drive as large as the bios allows
(eg, if you put a 20 gig in, it might only recognise as 10 gig). That's
still an improvement though, and that's probably the smallest new drive you
can get nowadays anyway.

Keith.

I had a 20G in mine and didn't need any drive overlay software, the Bios
recognized it fine.

What about this? http://store.yahoo.com/csnap/armada17001750.html
BTW does the message when NT4 setup is running (it stopped..either HD or
CD-ROM is bad - unsure which - diagnosis shows HD as OK and correct) "Cannot
verify C drive".
Files are missing...and it won't get them from the RecoveryCD. Does this
mean a bad HD, bad CD-ROM, bad configuration? (It's supposedly set to
default setup). TIA

Helen
