Default Who is responsible for disabling AGP prefetch (Intel E7505 MCH, Tyan 2665 MOBO, Windows XP)

Apparently, the E7505 MCH can lockup the system unless the AGP prefetch
is disabled. So who or what is responsible for disabling it? Do I need a
BIOS update? Do I need a driver update? I noticed that neither the BIOS for
my motherboard (Tyan 2665) nor the XP driver for the MCH has been updated
since this erratum was announced.
