Default Recommend a new printer?

I want to buy a new printer that can copy as well as print.
Inkjet seems suitable. I guess if I need to be able to copy, then an
allinone is in order. Since I have a router, a network printer would
seem in order, but USB will do.

I do not want trouble, which I have had with my present HP C7280 AIO.

Someone recommend something?

I presently have a HP Business Inkjet 1200n (printer only). It's been doing
a good job for the past 3 or 4 years.

I f I were looking to purchase a new printer, be it stand alone or "All In
One" I would check out the Kodak line. They make a good case for their ink;
supposedly cheaper and of;f better quality (pigment). Also, if you have the
room, consider individual printer, scanner, FAX,

In your selection, you may want the scanner to be able to handle 8½"x14"
documents.

could not be without this machine now.

If you do a lot of printing with the printer, then the economics
of the expendables is what counts. The reason you see cheap allinone
devices, is because the manufacturer has "chipped" the cartridges.
The printer may "declare" the cartridge is empty, and force you
to buy a new one. The "chipping" scheme is designed to prevent
cheap refills from being used. If you could get a printer, where
the cartridges could be refilled, it would reduce your per page
cost.

A laser printer might have a more reasonable per page printing
cost.

So it all depends on whether you actually print a lot with the
printer, as to what the right strategy is.

For the "do not want trouble" bit, you'd have to compare comments
about drivers with each company in the business. There are
customer reviews on this site, so you can see how much trouble
a product is.

Unless color is essential, I suggest you get a Laser Jet. They get
as low as $99 (US) these days, don't die because of clogged ink,
and are much cheaper and faster.

If you need color, consider what you get with a color laser. It
probably won't be as brilliant as an inkjet, but it will certainly
be cheaper. Prices get down to around $200. (US)

I just bought a Canon Pixma 630 and am very happy with it. I would
definitely recommend it.

Cheers.

I am on my fourth Canon in 20 years...and the last 2 are still in use.
Both copy scan and have memory card slots...
I've never had a problem with a Canon.
But I have looked at the new Kodak's and wondered..I guess that would be my
2nd Choice.

When you look be sure to get the price of the ink refills. Some brands out
there are really cheap...say 80 bucks and then it costs
you another 80 bucks to fill with Ink.

CB,

I'm sorry if my top posting disappoints you. It is an efficiency method I've
acquired in the many years in my Engineering office to file in reverse
chronological order. I find it less efficient to scroll down two or three
feet of a message to find someone posting "Thank you."

Take care,
