Default Qtec 14214 USB HDD caddy and back up - one to avoid?

Bought a Qtec USB caddy [14214] to use for backup and it does not work
with Norton Ghost when used for back up.

Unlike all the other caddies I've looked at which will work with the
HDD set to cable select, this caddy requires the drive to be set to
master.

I've now tried a variety of drives in the caddy, and it does not work
for image creation or cloning with any of them. By contrast the same
drives in other caddies seem to work fine.

I've set Ghost to load all USB drivers and still no go. Ghost has
worked with every other caddy I've tried.

Worth avoiding if intending to use as a USB drive with Ghost.

The support from Qtec was hopeless as well -

To Access this case there is a driver required, you try to access the case
from Dos or another OS than Windows, probably Ghost can't install a driver
for this case and can't access the case.

Kind regards,
Dirk Dorst
