which utility to make an ISO image directly from a CD?
I'm looking for a one-click solution. I want to back up important
CD-Rs to tape.I usually do all my CD-related work with Nero 6, but I can't seem to find a way to get Nero to simply make an ISO (or even an nrg) of a CD. The workaround is to "import" all the files from the CD, but that could be error-prone (hidden files? long path names?) and also doesn't seem to be able to make the image bootable. Aside from Roxio, which utilities, free or not, can do this task? --W- |

[Extras, Save Track] Aside from Roxio, which utilities, free or not, can do this task? Roxio makes non-standard .iso: ================================================== ========= Mike Richter (Slimy Scum) spewed (1/3/04): Most image formats are proprietary. In order to read and write the one for your mastering program, you would have little flexibility. You must be talking about Easy CD Cremator: ======================= From: Dean Ashton Subject: Extracting files from an EZCD 5 .ISO image?? Date: 4/7/01 I need to extract some files from an EZCD 5 .ISO image.. But applications such as WinImage, IsoBuster, CdMage and so on, don't seem to like the new format .ISO used by EZCD 5 (nice one, Roxio..) ======================== From: "eel" Subject: So, what do you all think of Roxio EMC7? Date: 2/29/04 So far I have found numerous bugs with some quite serious. 3) ...if you make an ISO file it is unreadable. ======================== There are ISO 9660 for data and BIN/CUE for most formats, but neither is generally written outside the program which will master them. Again, you must be talking about Easy Coaster Creator: ===================== From: Mike Richter (Roxio Shill) Subject: Stupid question - What program do I use to write Date: 8/22/01 an ISO image to a CD? ECDC reads and writes ISO - though there is a problem with 5.x (I do not know the details). [But Mike Richter calls himself a beta tester!] ===================== -------------------------------------- Mike Richter, were you born with "Scam Artist" emblazoned on your face? -------------------------------------- (Mike Richter, any Material Connection w/ Roxio?) ================================================== ========= |
