Default Is it the connection?

I can't get the midi to work on the live drive I. I am using a
regular IDE ribbon cable to connect the live drive to the sound card.
Could this be the problem? Is the grey cable that came with it (which
I no longer have) not the same as an IDE cable?

I think the cable is in fact different, but I could be wrong. Have you
tried contacting Creative on their European website? They are very
likely to have the cables and connectors you need.
