Default Raid

When my PC boots up there is an option to set up Raid. I dont really know
what this is or what benefits i would get if i did set it up. Is it for a PC
with more than one hard drive or is it for a network. I have a standalone PC
with one hard drive 160Gb. Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

Raid is used with multiple disk drive to increase reliability, speed, or
both. Has nothing to do with networks, and doesn't come in to play with
fewer than 2 drives.

You can't use RAID with one harddrive.
