Which HSF? Volcano 9/10/11 or Coolermaster aero 7
As header, Which HSF? the Volcano 9/10/11 range or the Coolermaster aero 7 /
7+. I Will be running it on an Abit NF-7S Rev 2 with a Barton 2500+. Also planning on getting the Thermaltake Xaser III case with the hardcano controller and would like the HSF to be compatible with this. TIA Helinut |

I can tell you this the Volcano 9 with the Thermaltake fan does a good job
of cooling. It is also very loud at 50+decibels rated by the manufacturer. There are a couple of companies making a heat pipe setup and if I were going to get a new unit I would be looking at the technology. Here is a link review of one I was looking at until I decided to go with water cooling www.dansdata.com/quickshot004.htm the cooler at the bottom of the page NPH-2. Besides it looks neat. TIA Helinut The Coolermaster Aero 7 does a great job, and is very quiet, on a XP1700+ running at 2315 MHz (1.6v core, NF7-S, 45C under load). It's also very inexpensive (relatively speaking ). Should be fine for the Barton. |

Just to update and add a bit of info, I am planning trying to get this rig
up to 3200+ spec if that makes a difference. TIA Helinut "Rob" wrote in message ... "Helinut" wrote in message ... As header, Which HSF? the Volcano 9/10/11 range or the Coolermaster aero 7 / 7+. I have a 2500 oc'd to 3200 specs ( 11.5*200) vcore @ 1.75)
I'm using the retail HS with a 60mm Delta fan ontop. room temp at 20c, ( well my heating themostat is on 20) system idle @ 23c load@25c cpu idle @38c load max's out at 45c I have a gobalwin case, pretty old one running with 80mm fans front and back and have just added an 80mm blow hole sitting next to my Grphx card . so its not just the HS you need to consider but overall case temp -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Are you still wasting your time with spam?... TIA Helinut I'd recommend a Vantec Aeroflow over any that you mentioned. Very efficient, smaller than the Volcanos and the TMD fan is quiet, despite the relatively high RPM. My 2500+'s run in the low 40's C max, overclocked to 3200+ speed using Aeroflows. |

Man. Why has no one mentioned a SLK-947 + 92mm fan? You could hit 2.4ghz
(3600+) with that setup. rms |
