I use an A4Tech wireless mouse that has rechargable batteries inside and can
be charged while you're using it via a USB cable.

It's pretty good. The recharge period is a couple of weeks, and it takes a
few hours to charge on the cable.

Can you tell us the model and its website? I'd like to check
it out.

I have a Logitec Wireless Optical and batteries last a good 3 to 4 months.
I changed batteries on Valentines day and its still going strong. I got a
warning the other day that the batteries are low, but that means I have
another week or two to go.

Can you tell us the model? I'd like to check it out.

all batteries aren't created equal. For example certain "AA" cells don't
last at all in certain digital cameras the current is too low see what the
mouse manufacturer recommends.

Wouldn't it be great if you didn't need batteries, and that the power from
the usb or ps/2 port could be sent wirelessly to the mouse? But alas, maybe
some things really are impossible.
