sound drivers for presario 1600s

Hi I was given an old presario 1600s which was in a terrible state so I
decided to wipe it clean and start again with just windows 98se using the
cab files on the computer. Only windows 98se is re installed except for the
sound driver which I and the computer cannot find. Any ideas? I do not have
disks for it although all the original files are on drive D:.

download and run the gui for Craig Hart's pci . it may id the audio
adapter on your notebook . go to : http://www.fuwi.ethz.ch/
if you post the info on the audio adapter or the summary report we
should be able to find the driver you need .
