Bill, I really can't say if you should or if you shouldn't,but many people do indeed turn off XPs inbuilt 'burning' software. If you get better results with it turned off, then keep it turned off. Cheers mate I guess it's suck it and see....... Bill |

Preferably yes, and definitely if it has a packet writing component (eg InCD or Direct CD) where the two drag and drop effects will get hopelessly confused with each other. If you only use a mastering program, and want to use the burning of an audio CD from a playlist in Media player, there is a case for having the inbuilt burning on just for that - but I would still only turn it on knowing I was about to use that aspect -- Alex Nichol Bournemouth, U.K. |

Will that mess up Roxio ECDC6 that I have installed? -- Aloke ---- to reply by e-mail remove 123 and change invalid to com |

My Computer - right click on the drive, Properties and uncheck 'Enable Recording' on the recording page. This only affects the internal method - it will not affect the Roxio programs. Indeed, installing them may well have turned it off already. -- Alex Nichol MS MVP (Windows Technologies) Bournemouth, U.K. (remove the D8 bit) |
