Stew,

Got the new 2400 mother board that I bought on Ebay. Received in very
timely manner and all is well with it......well, almost.

The new board has different kind of slot that the power switch connects to.
New one has nine pins versus old board having a twenty pin slot. The plug
has six wires coming from the power button and there is a brown jumper wire
on the plug. Maybe Dell would sell me a new one? Just a simple set of
wires coming from the switch.

Also, there are two blue cables that connect to the board that are used to
connect the USB ports at the front of the computer. Same
situation.....different kind of slot to plug into. I don't think that this
is terribly important as there are four USB ports on the back of the
computer...just would be nice to have it all work properly.

If you have any suggestions, I'd love to have them!

Thanks.

Rob

Stew,

Think I already have the problem solved. Called Dell and purchased a new
switch wire. Keep your fingers crossed!
