Nero InCd won't burn to formatted disc
Hi,
When I try to drag or copy files to a fully or quick formatted disc I get the message: "Error writing the disc in E:\. Please confirm that the disc is compatible with the drive and is not scratched or damaged". I've tried it with three different brands of 1x to 4x speed CD-RW discs, and have never had this problem with this Sony rewritable drive (i've tested on another system with another crx100e installed, with same results). I'm still able to burn discs, just not on formatted ones. Another thing that happens is when I click on the drive letter in My Computer the system freezes for a few minutes while the hour glass is displayed. Prior to switching to Nero, I used Roxio's Easy CD 5.3 and had no problems with recording to formatted, but had issues with other features. Using Nero 6 Ultra Ed. version 6.3.0.3 WinXP Pro SP1 Sony CRX100E Other system: Win98 SE Sony CRX100E Thanks in advance |

Try a full erase on such a disc, then format again. If it takes a long time and the resulting space is not as great as it should be, you have a disc which no longer works well in that drive. It is likely to be wearing out (erasables can take only a finite number of cycles - and most of us have found that to be far less than the touted 1000). Mike -- http://www.mrichter.com/ |
