Mike Richter crapped:

How about an update whether the FAQ has corrected the significant
errors?

I've posted privately to Andy on the FAQ section.

It is quite dated ... and has significant errors

My standard for any disc I use seriously is that

my test writes give zero errors - C1 and C2.

I'm surprised that you can produce a disc with zero C1 errors

Don't be surprised - just select burner and media appropriately.
I have waiting in the outgoing mail two copies of a master for
pressing. One is on T-Y, the other Mitsui. Both were recorded
at 8x on a Plexwriter 1210s.

Each was tested and found free of C1 and C2 errors.

The above is an unadulterated white LIE.

There will always be some C1 errors. They say C1 errors are built into
the CD. There is no CD with zero C1 errors.

I have actually measured error rates
========================

The above is an unadulterated white LIE.

There was NO way Mike Richter could have measured "error rates" (C1/C2
errors). Mike Richter did NOT even have a drive reporting C1 errors.

And Mike Richter does NOT even know what C1/C2 errors are!

I have tested non-HighSpeed erasables in my 12x HighSpeed
and 8x non-HighSpeed Plextors and find substantially higher
error rates at 4x in the HighSpeed drives.
======================

The above is an unadultered white LIE.

There was NO way Mikey could have tested "error rates". First,
there was NO error rate measuring software supporting Plextors.

Second, even if there was a software, it could not have tested
error rates -- because the above Plextors do NOT report C1 errors.

And Mikey does NOT even know what C1/C2 errors are!

The above is Mikey's strutting that he's such an authority on CD-R that
he can even point out a mistake in CD-R Faq, thus giving credibility to
these unadulterated white lies.

There is a specification for CD Extra which defines it as a single
session containing audio tracks followed by a data *track*.

CD Extra uses a single session with audio track(s) followed by
a data track. If there are two sessions, it is an "Enhanced CD".

Mikey spewed the above unadulterated white lies to weasel out a bug of
Easy Coaster Creator: Easy CD Mangler does not support CD-Text in SA0
(Session-At-Once).

(Note: CD-Text is stored in the subcode of the lead-in)
( and thus supported only in SAO and DAO. )

Subject: Easy CD Creator makes CD-Extra disc with no track titles

the program did not transfer track titles or publisher
or artist information to the disc.

If you want to do a true CD Extra, you have to comply with the rules
for CD Extra - which means TAO and no titles.

Yes, the FAQ says that a Mixed Mode disc
is written in a single session.

I don't doubt it...but it conflicts with

other information I have gleaned from
references
========================

There are No -- None, Nada, Zip, Zilch -- references that define Mixed
Mode as multiple sessions.

The above Mikey's unadulterated white lie was to weasel out (at the
expense of CD-R FAQ) another Mikey's unadulterated white lie:

Mixed Mode is multisession by definition.

I found it out by reading the definition.
