Default compaq presario 1800 laptop

One day I turned on my laptop and when it loaded my profile it had a big
hazard symbol on the screen and stated that my privacy is in danger. Then I
loaded my fix it utilities 8 cd to clean it up and get rid of the threat.
However, now it will not load my profile and programs. The only thing that
shows is the microsoft windows xp boot logo and it stays on that's it. has
anyone come across a situation like this? Is there any help for this?
