Default Cannot burn 90 minute disc

Hi all,

I have a Plextor PX320A DVD/CDRW, and I recently bought a set of 90 minute
discs (Philips).

Today I tried to burn a 799 MB file on one of the discs, but I cannot get it
to work.

So far I have altered the expert settings to overburn to 99 minutes
(although I'm not sure that that is needed, but Nero Burning Rom still
insists that there is too little space on the disc. Alas, it does not
feature a 'burn anyway' disc like other software I used in the past.

Can anybody tell me what I need to do to burn this file?

Thanks in advance,

Princess Morgiah

From: "pinacola"
Subject: 90 minute cd problem help please.
Date: 1/1/04

I can burn the 800 meg cd to 780 ect, with a .cue file to burn
a backup for a game.

But when i just want to save 780 megs of data, or just 750 it
wont let me says the cd aint big enough ?

Also nero says its just has 7.03 or so megs ???, it shows etc
etc However Nero 5.5.10.54 still does not accept the oversize.
Should I install Nero 6 in order to solve this problem, or are
there any additional suggestions.

Nero overbun howto:

Brad's Nero Over Burning:

Thanks for the add.info , I 'll give it a try.
By the way I also updated my plexwriter software, which also was a
must for 800Mb/90 min. discs

Thanks for the advices, it works right now.

What made it work, the Nero overburn howto or the Brad's page? Could
you give what you did in detail?

Actually it was Brad's page. Because I also contacted the Nero people
and
they gave as setting 92 min 59 sec 74 fr. but that did not work.
So I went back to the other setting of 101.59.74 and had no further
problems. But as said also the Plexwriter's software had to be updated.

Have you checked whether the "90-minute" disc actually offers enough
space? You may also need to find out how much your drive will burn -
early Plexwriters did not overburn; later ones would write to 95 minutes
max. See if there is later firmware for your drive.
