Win 8 MAJOR annoyance

Win 8 has a few minor items that need some tweaking and it settles down OK.

BUT.. There is one item that HAS GOT TO BE CHANGED... The damn
automatic file sorting and refresh while using explorer.
There needs to be a way to shut it off or at least change the way it works.

Why? Say you want to rename a file. Simple enough in most systems.
Right click, rename, type the new name and done. File sits there until
you manually refresh or sort the folder.

NOT in Win 8. In 8 you open the folder, right click the file, select
rename, type in the new name and the instant you click or hit enter it
sorts the file into whichever order you have selected for the folder.

BUT to make it more fun if you're renaming the file and the machine
auto-refreshes the folder while you have the name selected and are
typing the new name Win 8 will DELETE the name and sort the file
automatically.

Discovered this fun while renaming some video files. So far I have found
petitions to MS to correct this and a a work around for Win 7 that
doesn't work on win 8.

See if there's a Cygwin version for win 8.

Do everything with command lines in bash.

I've survived XP with Cygwin for years.
