Default PowerLeap upgrade K63 cpu's & misc parts

Have a K63 350 & a K63 450 cpu. Both were used in PowerLeap adapters for
separate PB systems. Also have MrBios bios upgrade for PB 680-685 series
motherboards. The bios upgrade is applicable to some other Pentium
motherboards with onboard video as well, and necessary to run these chips.
Also have 2 PL K63 adapters. All will be going up on ebay unless someone is
interested prior. K63 450 has been run underclocked at 400 & 350 has been
run at 366. Both have been rock solid stable since purchased new. Also
parting out 2 Pentium PB's. Have desktop case & "pizza box" case. Good
power supplies (145w & 235w), motherboards and 256m of ram. (8 32m chips)
56k v90 modem/soundcard and hd w/98 already loaded too. Restore disks, PCI
video cards VooDoo3 2000 16m & VooDoo5 5500 64m. All or parts.

I do not know how you can make the statement that the MR BIOS upgrade is
applicable to
some other pentium systems.
If was my understanding that this upgrade was only for the system listed.

Unless you have an upgrade that only writes to the memory address where the
particular
upgrade information is needed and that it is the same on each 2mb chip than
you are looking
for some complaints assuming there is such an upgrade .

Now the upgrade may work on some NEC systems that use the 680 MB

In any case
Ebay is the place to sell these items

This is copied from the readme file on the bios flash disk.

MR BIOS Version 3.46
Part Number V09AB5NV

V09AB5NV.BIO is compatible with the following motherboards:

Packard Bell, NEC, Dell "VX" with Virge S3 Trio 64+ On-Board Video

Copyright (c) 1998, Microid Research, Inc.

I didn't remember which ones at the time of my original post, but I did
remember seeing it was compatible with other mb's, fwiw. I know people have
asked about it in the past.

IIRC, all of the "boards" mentioned are one and the same, made by Intel
variously for PB, NEC, and Dell. The key here is the original Intel BIOS
identifier. Microid, like all the other 3rd party BIOS manufacturers now
deceased, developed one BIOS per model of motherboard.

To make a blanket statement that the BIOS can be used in other motherboards
without sufficient qualification could set up the potential naive BIOS flasher
for a disaster... Ben Myers

That is the key
Just saying for other pentium motherboards is not the key
The bios says Packard Bell, NEC, Dell "VX" with Virge S3 Trio 64+ On-Board
Video

Saying some other motherboards with on board video is not concise enough
I would hate to see a bios screw up since there are probably quite a few
pentium motherboards
with the S3 tri ,I suppose.

My main point actually was
Sell on Ebay not on this Newsgroup

Oh, let him try to sell it here, too. This stuff has little value any more,

Jeez. Try to share some info for Packard Bell pc parts, and you two are
gonna gang up on me for doing so? Yeah, maybe there wasn't enough info
initially, since I hadn't read the damn file for 4 or 5 years. This is the
PackardBell newsgroup, right? Don't you think most of the people who read
posts in this group have the intelligence to ask questions and read
instructions? Worked for me. I have posted help in the past in this ng. I
don't claim to be an expert, but I'm not stupid either. I have also bought
things from some posters to this group. Just trying to remove some clutter.
Get a life.

gonna gang up on me for doing so? Yeah, maybe there wasn't enough info
initially, since I hadn't read the damn file for 4 or 5 years. This is
the PackardBell newsgroup, right? Don't you think most of the people who
read posts in this group have the intelligence to ask questions and read
instructions? Worked for me. I have posted help in the past in this ng.
I don't claim to be an expert, but I'm not stupid either. I have also
bought things from some posters to this group. Just trying to remove some
clutter. Get a life.

He can sell it here
You are right
I just think he can do much better on Ebay

I do good there

Oh, let him try to sell it here, too. This stuff has little value any
more,
except for collectors, hobbyists, and people who simply want to keep an
old
system running... Ben Myers

That is the key
Just saying for other pentium motherboards is not the key
The bios says Packard Bell, NEC, Dell "VX" with Virge S3 Trio 64+
On-Board
Video

Saying some other motherboards with on board video is not concise
enough
I would hate to see a bios screw up since there are probably quite a
few
pentium motherboards
with the S3 tri ,I suppose.

My main point actually was
Sell on Ebay not on this Newsgroup

IIRC, all of the "boards" mentioned are one and the same, made by
Intel
variously for PB, NEC, and Dell. The key here is the original Intel
BIOS
identifier. Microid, like all the other 3rd party BIOS manufacturers
now
deceased, developed one BIOS per model of motherboard.

To make a blanket statement that the BIOS can be used in other
motherboards
without sufficient qualification could set up the potential naive
BIOS
flasher
for a disaster... Ben Myers

I didn't remember which ones at the time of my original post, but I
did
remember seeing it was compatible with other mb's, fwiw. I know
people
have
asked about it in the past.

news I do not know how you can make the statement that the MR BIOS
upgrade
is
applicable to
some other pentium systems.
If was my understanding that this upgrade was only for the system
listed.

Unless you have an upgrade that only writes to the memory address
where
the particular
upgrade information is needed and that it is the same on each 2mb
chip
than you are looking
for some complaints assuming there is such an upgrade .

Now the upgrade may work on some NEC systems that use the 680 MB

In any case
Ebay is the place to sell these items

Have a K63 350 & a K63 450 cpu. Both were used in PowerLeap
adapters
for
separate PB systems. Also have MrBios bios upgrade for PB 680-685
series
motherboards. The bios upgrade is applicable to some other
Pentium
motherboards with onboard video as well, and necessary to run
these
chips. Also have 2 PL K63 adapters. All will be going up on ebay
unless
someone is interested prior. K63 450 has been run underclocked at
400
&
350 has been run at 366. Both have been rock solid stable since
purchased new. Also parting out 2 Pentium PB's. Have desktop case
&
"pizza box" case. Good power supplies (145w & 235w), motherboards
and
256m of ram. (8 32m chips) 56k v90 modem/soundcard and hd w/98
already
loaded too. Restore disks, PCI video cards VooDoo3 2000 16m &
VooDoo5
5500 64m. All or parts.
