Default Problem: Can't boot from CD

I have a KT7A-RAID board that I know I've booted from a CD in the
past. But suddenly, I can't find any setting that will allow me to do
this. I have the BIOS set up with

1st boot: floppy
2nd boot: CD
3rd boot: ATA 100

But I've also tried other arrangements, such as 1st boot CD. I even
tried all three as boot to the CD, but the systen then just hangs on
startup.

I'm not running any RAID. I've tried my Plextor CDRW drive and my LG
CD Reader as the Primary drive on the IDE controller, and still no
luck.

Am I overlooking something obvious, or is there some switch somewhere
that I may have inadvertantly set wrong? Both CD drives seem in good
order because they each will autorun an autorun CD.

The only reason I need this capability is that I want to try
installing XP on this machine. Given that I cant boot from the CD, is
there another approach that will work, like copying the files to a
hard drive? Is it possible to create a bootable XP floppy to start
this off?

Thanks for any suggestions.

try the Smart Boot Disk. little setup goes onto a diskette, and allow you
to boot any drive on your system
