Default other uses of a laptop LCD screen - like a TV or a Monitor?

I have a 15" LCD screen taken form a Compaq Armada laptop, the laptop
broke but the LCD is in very good condition. I am wondering if this
screen can be used for some other purposes - like a TV or a Monitor.

What does it take to achieve this and is it worth thinking something
like this?

I would appreciate if all hi tech, geeky guys can respond to this or
those who have laredy palyed around with such things like this and
succeeded or failed.

Thanks in advance !!!
DK
