Install Red Hat Linux v9 on 2nd HD?
I was reading the RH Linux 9 doc last night and noticed it said I
can't put /boot on the second HD if it is not on the primary controller (first MB IDE socket). I already have the first HD and the CD on that controller socket and don't want to change it. (If it is working, don't fix it!) Is this correct? I thought I'd done this before on another system and it worked. What now? I don't want to re-partition the first HD which has XP on it. I'll need to use a boot floppy? Or won't that work either? FWIW, I'm using a Compaq Presario 5000T desktop. I'd prefer to get this planned for before I try to install Linux. TIA Ken |
