Default Need a USB 2.0 Card Recommendation

Hi,

about 2 years ago someone was nice enough to recommend a USB 2.0 card
(had 4 ports I think) for my Dell Dimension 8200 Desktop. Could anyone
reccomend a good site that I could order another? I can't remember the
original site (I *think* it was newegg but I'm not positive)

Thanks

I've been using a 2-port card from Adaptec in my 8200 for several years now.
Adaptec also makes a 4-port card as well as a combo USB/Firewire version.

I'm a huge fan of IOGear. It always "just works".

If you're looking for the comfort of a brand name, I'd recommend either SIIG
or Adaptec.

Since newegg.com has been mentioned, you might also check www.zipzoomfly.com

That is exactly what I got. They had that and some other brand (I can't
rememeber) at J&R. and so I went with the iogear, pretty green packaging
too... (kidding, I'm not THAT vapid)

I just got a great PCIexpress card from "FireWire-1394.com" It has 2 usb 2
ports outside and one inside AND 2 FireWire 800 external ports and 1
internal. Easy installation Plug and Play. Then I bought` a self powering,
compact 13 hub, usb 2.2 hub from Newegg.com. Will power all your USB 1.1
and USB 2.0 devices. Just plug it in (self powered) does not try to draw all
that power out of your machine and plug it in to a 1 USB 2.0 port on your
computer. Hot Swapping and Plug and Play Supports everything from Win98se to
Vista and Mac. Transfers at 480Mbps (up to 127 Hi-Speed devices. I put a
couple of those clean 3M mounting strips to anchor it to my desk,
2.5"x4"x1", works great.
