The sku# is the same in both links.

You're just seeing the difference in the exchange rate between US
dollars
and Canadian dollars.

Considering the Canadian dollar is at par with the US dollar that is
quite
the rip off for Canadians.

Brian

Brian, you got me to thinking.... if the exchange rate is about the
same, can US or Canadians order from the cheaper side of Dell (US or
Canada)? I don't recall anyone doing this and perhaps shipping or
warrantee issues might make this a poor choice???

I don't know about Americans buying from Dell Canada but trying to get
the monitor on Dell US site, when I enter my Postal Code in the Zip
code. It doesn't fit and I have no idea what the hell the 4-digit Ext.
is.

I know, with Amazon.com, I can't buy hardware but I can buy software.

Dan

Just to add. The XPS that Amazon has.

When I click on the link. I get this underneath the words In Stock.
We are not able to ship this item to your default shipping address.

I'm sure they have it setup where you have to buy from the country website
in which you live. If you had friends/relatives that live in the US you
could probably use their home as the shipping address and then have them
send it to you. Not sure how this would impact warranties, etc. Does anyone
know what Dell's policy is if you move to another country?

Considering how long the Canadian dollar has been relatively close in value
to the US dollar it's really disappointing that Dell is still charging such
a large premium. I can understand having to pay a bit extra to handle
customs related matters but there is no way those costs are that much.

Brian

There is a border store that is 30 minutes away, that I can send their
if I need be.

Nice. Did you find any information on how warranties and service plans would
be handled?

nope but warranties from US companies usually are not accepted from
Canadians but you may get it if you live close to the place where you
got it from and can travel back.

There is a thread at Digital Home Canada regarding purchasing in the US

That's the USPS ZIP+4 code. The Zip Code defines the city or area of
the city. The +4 number narrows it down to a section of a street or
even a portion of a building. As I've not tried to purchase from Dell
using a Canadian Postal Code, I can't offer any advice, merely this
explanation.
