Default dark monitor

We have an EV700 Gateway Monitor. This monitor appears fine for word
processing, internet, etc. On games the screen is way dark. We have tried
adjusting the settings both on the monitor and the video card, but we have
to make the desktop very light for this to help. I do not believe that it is
the video card as I have replaced the other one, thinking that maybe that
was the problem. Has anyone else had any issues like this, and if so what
did you do? THe screen does not flicker or anything, and it has basically
been this way since we have ahd the computer for three years.

Sorry for the triple post. My reader kept telling me that it did not go
through.

Pamela,

Yes, I've triple-posted, too. You should be able to cancel the
redundant messages. For example, with Netscape 4.8, it's under
Edit, Cancel Message.

Hello I have the EV700 and it's the monitor. This screen is very dark. I
have taken pictures to work that seemed fine there but appear to be very
dark at home. The VX700 and VX720 a higher quality flat CRT from Gateway
also appears darker than the Dell monitors that we have at work.

I talked to a good friend about how I had the settings on maximum and it
still seemed too dark, he said the screen is either bad or cheap. He
suggested getting a new screen, his monitor is plenty bright for games and
photos and his settings are only at 50%. I plan on buying one if I can find
a good deal.
