Black screen after installing ATI all-in-wonder 2066 Edition
Hello everybody, this is my first message.
My problem is that after having installed the new video card (Ati All in wonder 2006 Edition based on the Radeon 9600) on my motherboard (Asus P4P800- VM) , when I boot the system up there is only a black screen with no evidence of life on the system. What I did after was update my BIOS to the latest version available on Asus (1018). The chipset is Intel 82865G so the AGP driver should work correctly. Then I powered off the system and put the ati card again but still nothing. I have also tried lowering the resolution to the minimum when I use the old card (ATI Radeon 9200), in order to see at least the windows logo. Please help me. I THANK IN ADVANCE ALL THOSE WHO WILL SPEND THEIR TIME IN GIVING ME SOME GOOD ADVICES. |

I assume your previoius card is also ATI. You need to clean out ATI
driver completely. You can download driver uninstall program from ATI site. Run this uninstall and restart your computer. After restart, install the latest ATI driver. Is your card hooked up to 2 monitors? or 1 monitor & 1 TV? If it is, check the 2nd screen. If the screen is blank from boot it is not drivers. Try reseating your card,
sometimes the video card is "shorter" then the old one and does not fully insert into the slot. If this is the case you may need to "adjust" the height of the motherboard or the case back panel.
