Default 1 Driver, 3 Cameras?

i am a senior in the computer engineering department at the university
of michigan. i am currently working on a project that requires the
simultaneous use of 3 of the same usb webcams on 1 machine.

i need to know if there is a way to use the same webcam driver 3
separate times, so that each camera can refer to its own driver.

i am relatively confident this method will work, because i can use 2
different brands of cams and have them work at the same time, but the
project requires the cams to be the same.

any help on this would be great, since i am completely unfamiliar with
this type of modification.

thanks in advance!

Not much info I'm afraid, but I often use 2 Phillips Toucams on the same
PC, and have used 3. This was under win98. NO mods required, the only
problem was telling them apart - the device names are the same. If you
leave them plugged in they (almost?) always appear in the same order,
even after a reboot.
