Problem loading Nero
I am trying to upgrade an older computer with an A-Open IDE CD-RW drive
which comes with NERO V5.5. On trying to install Nero I get a warning about a conflict with an older version of an Adaptec Ultra2W miniport driver, AIC78U2.MPD. When I follow the instructions for updating this, by updating the driver for the SCSI controller through Device Manager, the only the file AIC78xx.MPD gets fixed though there is a new version of AIC78U2.MPD in the download. So NERO still won't install after the fix. The System Control panel tells me the SCSI Controller is an Adaptec AVA-2902I/AVA-2902E/AVA-2904/AVA-2910 PCI model. The controller is used for an old external removable disk drive I migrated from a Mac. AIC78U2.MPD does not appear to be mentioned anywhere in the Registry. So any ideas anyone? How can I get the AIC78U2.MPD to update? Does my controller need it anyway? Can I just delete it?!? Hugh |
