Brother 8840D : Scanning over the network problem
I got this scanner/printer/fax combo from Brother.
I also have a stand alone print server box which is connected to my network, and which connects the 8840D using a USB cable. I succeeded in getting both the printer and the fax work over the network ( The Fax appears as a printer on the computers ) 1. I was wondering if it is possible to get the scanner to work over the network ( I should be able to scan papers using any computers on the network ) 2. If that is not possible, I was wondering if I could buy a cheap USB switch that has multiple USB inputs and outputs, so that I would be able to connect a computer to the switch using USB for scanning purposes and the printserver will also be connected to the switch for network printing purposes. ( Both the computer and printserver connects to teh switch input and the 8840D is connect to the output of the switch ) Thanks for reading --sony |
