Default Turtle beach Santa Cruz vs onboard C-Media 8738?

I am considering buying a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card to replace my
onboard C-Media 8738. Does anyone have any comments about the Santa
Cruz's sound vs. the onboard C-Media 8738 sound? I am most interested
in 2-channel stereo line-level output of CDs and WAVs and occaisionally
I will record an analog source to a WAV for eventual burning onto an
audio CD. What I mainly don't like about the onboard sound is it's
relatively low output from the line out jack, which cause me to have to
turn my external amplifier up significantly higher than any other
components attached to it to get the same volume as from those
components.

TIA!
Bob
