Default Avoid PIXMANIA / FotoVista!

Hi Guys,

If anyone is ever tempted to buy from PixMania / FotoVista, please resist
the temptation. Learn from my mistake!

Firstly they ship items from France, not the UK. If this information is
present on their web site, it's hidden from mortal eyes.

This causes huge issues when returning large but relatively inexpensive
items as they insist they are returned to France, at your expence!

Secondly their delivery times are misleading as they claim to offer 2 to 4
day delivery. This is more like 4 days or more. They blame everyone except
themselves for their mistakes, even Parcel Force for not doing their job
properly. Their depatch department cannot record parcel tracking numbers
correctly, which leads to errors later on.

If goods do arrive damaged (as in my case) then often as not it's simply not
economic to return them for repair or replacement.

Oh, at to cap it all they have an 0870 number which has lots of pre-recorded
messages but no customer service operators to actually answer your calls.
They cut you off before you can speak to anyone. Nice little earner I think!

So, I would suggest you all avoid http://www.pixmainia.com/ and it's related
outfits such as http://www.pixmainia.co.uk/ and other related companies.

It's not worth the effort in trying to deal with them for the tiny alledged
savings they offer.

If anyone else has had similar experiences, or even good experiences with
this company do speak up.

Kind Regards

Simon

Ordered a camera about 8 months ago - arrived in 2 days.
IIRC it was obvious at the time that it was shipped from France but I can't
remember how we knew.
