Default Access Denied for my "C" drive

I have a hard drive that has gone on the blink. It began having
problems as a result of so many spywares that downloaded onto my
system. My computer began to take longer and longer to boot-up.
Finally, nothing was working as it should. I have since cleaned my
system of its spyware using SpyBot to delete them. Since then I
cannot access my C drive. I have access to my D drive and have
installed my operating symptom on it so as to be able to access my
Hard Drive.

After installing Windows on my D drive I checked "my computer" icon to
see if it recognized my C and D drives and it does. I have icons for
my C and D drives. However, when I do a "properties" for the C drive,
I do not get any information as to the size, number of files or
anything else. Also, the properties icon shows that I have no free
space and if I try and open my C drive, it gives me an "access denied"
error.

When I do a "properties" check on my D drive I can see the amount of
space used, free space available, total number of files, and the size
of the D drive.

When I do a Nortons Antivirus scans it will list my files as it is
scanning them on the C drive. Also, I used Nortons disk doctor and it
does recognize my C drive. In the process I told it to correct some
errors and it tells me it made the corrections. Afterwards I attempt
to access C drive and I still get the error message "Access Denied."

Can anyone tell me what has happened to my C drive? Why are my files
hidden from me? Why can't I access my C drive? What can I do to
correct what ever problem I am having? And how can I gain access to my
C drive files?

goto start bar/control panel/administrativ tools/ computer management,
under storage/disk management you will see all drives your computer
detects. From here you should be able to do the basic disk management.
If recovery doesn't work I suggest you simply format your drive, but
if you have vital information on the drive I would sugest that you
find a third party data recovery tool to retrive the data (the data
must be stored on a different drive) and then format the drive.
Simplest is allways the best solution. Hope this helps a little.
