Interesting. I've never seen one like that before.

He ordered the desktop version, they sent the laptop version.

I've dealt with laptop drives before--every one I've seen is a
perfectly ordinary 2.5" drive. In fact, my laptop now runs the SSD
that used to be in this box until I outgrew it.

I'm thinking what he has is intended for something not meant for user
upgrading--say, a Macbook Air.

You should refrain from posting when you don't know what you are talking
about.

The OP was sent a mSATA SSD, a standard form factor widely used in
laptops.

The illustration on the web page was M5P version while I was sent the M5M
version. To quote:

"The Plextor M5M is a high-performance mSATA 6 Gb/s SSD specifically
engineered to give ultrabook, tablet PC, and other JEDEC MO-300 form factor
users the speed and low power consumption benefits of the newest generation
SSD technology."

Anyway, I'm getting a refund and shall re-order from another source.

Thanks for all your comments,
Kind regards,
Rod
