Default GeForce 6600GT & ForceWare 91.47 drivers

I have been using a GeForce 6600GT, 256Mb, PCI-E videocard.

A few days ago I experienced a BSOD (error code 0x0000008E and a mention of
the file "nv4.sys"), and I was advised to try other drivers (IIRC I was
using Forceware 84.21 up until then) so I got me nvidia's latest set, 91.47.

I installed these yesterday, and have noticed some issues with these new
drivers. I tend to watch videos and DVD's on my PC, and I noticed I can't
adjust the video settings anymore, in applications such as WinDVD 7 and
BSPlayer.

I haven't had the chance to try any games yet, but I'm starting to wonder if
I am really better off now.

I was wondering if anyone has had similar experiences. Any tips are highly
welcome!

BTW, I did use the settings in the new control panel thing, and that worked,
but it's still very annoying that I can't do that from within other
applications.

You can roll back your drivers by picking a date before you downloaded the
new ones.

Thanks, I eventually did that. I went back to V84.21, which seems to work
pretty well.

.... Except it also means I'm back where I started. I have no idea what
caused the BSOD in the first place. It only occurred once, so far.
