Default Dell Latitude D600: No Standby

I've purged the harddrives and installed both Windows XP Professional
and Windows 2003 Enterprise Server on a new Dell Latitude D600.
Strangely enough I don't have the option to put the system on standby
(neither under Start - Shut Down, nor in Settings - Power
Management, nor using the FN-Suspend key combination). True for both
OSes. Any hints?

Answering my own question... the ability to use standby is directly
linked to the presence (or absence) of the Mobility Radeon 9000 screen
driver. Under XP that's the end of the story (I had the standard VGA
driver installed).

Under Windows Server 2003 the (XP) driver will install, but a STOP
error/blue screen will be presented upon reboot. Installing the driver
manually in Device Manager will work, however, and the standby
function will magically appear.

Not sure why that is.
