Scanner warming up
On Fri, 18 Jul 2003 09:43:14 +0800, "Click"
found these unused words floating about: Every time I start to use my scanner an Epson 1660 Photo it starts by saying that it's warming up. If I'm only scanning one page it takes much longer to warm up than to scan the picture. When I get to scanning slides, which is a very slow process you have to wait minutes for every scan to be done. Then it's slow reloading up the next 4 slides for scanning. Then it's time for the scanner to warm up again. Is the scanner actually warming up? Would the process be quicker if the scanner was in a warmer room? Would it help to have a small heater fan blow on the scanner? Apparently there's just enough time between scans for the internal timer to 'conviently' turn off the lamp. This 'feature' is supposed to make sure that the lamp is at proper temperature, thus giving the full color specturm to your image. I can't say for your model, but some scanners do allow the 'time-out' feature to be adjusted in software. |
