Default RAID 0 setup questions

I have a pair of WD 200GB 8MB cashe drives that i am trying to set up
in my system.

The motherboard is a chaintech 7NJS Ultra with an onboard promise
FastTrack 376 RAID controller.

The manual (for the mainboard) is translated English, and not that
much help. My question is jumper settings. I read on one site to use
both as Master. Is this correct, or should i use another method
(Master/Slave, Slave/Slave, Cable Select/Cable Select)?

Best is to setup both drives as Master and connect them each on a seperate
80-pins cable to the two RAID connectors.

OK, thanks. I will go with the dual Master option.

Now, must i format my HD before i install it onto the RAID card, or after?

Thanks again!

For a fresh installation or usage, (no files already on the drives)
you always define the array first, in the raid controller's bios that
appears right after POST.

After defining the array the drive(s) (array) is partitioned, then
formatted.
