Default CMOS Checksum error - to all those that lent a hand - Thanks!

was it the battery?

I just had this error, changing the battery did not help. I couldn't
get into the BIOS. The damn thing kept posting one way one time and
another after a reboot. Sometimes it would get all the way through
and pressing delete took me to a black screen and a blinking cursor.
Memory and CPU getting detected at 100 or 133 intermittently. I got
into the BIOS by moving the 100-133 jumper to 100. Not really sure
what cleared it, I took the CPU back out and reinstalled it. Seems
okay now. 3 weeks in the closet and it forgot how to boot up....joy.
