Default Epson photo 820 - Not recognizing generic carts

When you say "not recognizing"-- do you mean that it doesn't recognize them
at all, doesn't recognize that they're installed, doesn't recognize that
they're full, or that it doesn't recognize them as generic cartridges? I've
used about four different brands of generic cartridges with my 820, and
they've all worked fine.

I'm bought some generic inks from TylerMartin but it's not recognizing
ink carts. How can I solve this prob? The generic also have chips on
them. I'm printing stuff that will be thrown away a month or two from
now and don't want to spend $30 a cart. Any ideas?

TIA.

I've bought them from several places online, and also on eBay.

John,

Where do you get your generic inks?

This is my second epson 820. The original epson photo 820 worked well
with generic inks for over a year then died. This new 820 won't
recognize the generic carts at all. The red light continues to blink
which indicate that the cart needs to be replaced and the program
keeps directing me to a site where I can purchase OEM inks.

I called TylerMartin and they advised me to try all the left over inks
after various conditions...like rebooting, reinstalling, updating
drivers.. etc etc. I've tried it all and it doesn't work but when I
place the OEM carts, it works just fine.
