Interesting.
I burned more then a dozen CDs and nothing. I am planning on trying older firmware. Will let you know. Martino "Kevin Miller" wrote in message ... Plextor support says that the issue might be related to not using recommended media. I have been using TDK CD-R rated up to 48X. I think that the issue is with burned versus CD Player compatibility - as you are indicating. Martino, I've been trying to find the answer to the same problem for a while now. CDs burned on my NEC 1100A show CD-TEXT fine in my car's CD system, but the Plextor 708A just won't do it. Frustrating... Kevin Miller "The avalanche has already started; it is too late for the pebbles to vote." Damn it -- Soon after I posted the last message, I burning two tracks onto a CD with the Plextor and Nero and got CD_Text just fine...grumble, grumble... I tried 3 different ones: Nero, Roxio and what came with the Samsung CD-R -
Sonic RecordNow. Same result in every case. Thanks anyhow. "Tim Kroesen" wrote in message ink.net... Try burning CD-Text with another program... Feurio is a free demo... www.feurio.com Tim K "Martino" wrote in message ... Dude are you reading my mail or are half on a pipe. I wrote (in the original post) that CDs burned on Samsung CD-R/RW are correctly displaying CD-TEXT on My Pioneer CD Player. "3W" wrote in message ... "SleeperMan" wrote in message ... This CD Text is problem by itself. Most CD Players don't show it even if it is burned on CD. Who knows, why...i guess standard for this is not exactly unique so burners sort it out differently... Most CD players don't have text display for CD text. |

Same result in every case. yes, but Feurio is the right one to try: http://www.feurio.de/English/Writerd...r_px_708a.html I guess that the problem is that your player can't read the CD-Text written by the Plextor, but you have to make sure that CD-Text has been written to the disc. Did you check that the Plextor is able to read the CD-Text written by itself? |

I've been burning cd text for a few years and never had any prob with any software or writer and player. One thing - all the progs I used, Nero, Easy cd, Sony, etc throw up a message saying you cannot write CD TEXT to a RW disc. I have a Sony and Pioneer writer + a Sony and Pioneer player. It does not matter which way round you use them There is a free program that will read cd text if it exists on the cd, It will also save the cd text to your windows cdini file. It is called Cdex and can be found at http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ Maybe the plextor is faulty? T |

I tried the same thing on a Samsung CD-R/RW and no problems; CD-TEXT is visible on My Pioneer CD with no issues. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks. One thing I forgot to mention before. My Pioneer player, previous model to yours, does not show text in a certain play mode. You have to press something on the remote a couple of times to turn it on otherwise it just displays the disk number. T |

I just wrote a couple of songs with CD-Text onto a CD-RW using Roxio 5, and it's displaying the text nicely on the HACP (free) software player I use. (Like CDEX, it displays text properly if it's there) My recorder is a BTC 1004IM. I suspect your inability to write text to a CD-RW must be a limitation of the drive rather than the software. This is interesting. Brendon |
