Default Compaq Pasario 6350US questions

I posted about two weeks ago and asked if there was a reason for this
machines slowness...HH and one other, told me that the Hard Drive is 5400
RPM, the video also slows the machine etc...thank you for your input..it did
help but!!!

Well I am going to change out the motherboard, hard drive, video card,
computer case and modem...so here are my questions...What would be the
groups recommendations about the changeout?...is there a good motherboard
that will fit the existing case?...If so this will aid in not changing out
the 3 1/2 inch floppy drive....Has anyone done this and what were the
changes you made to make this machine perform well...As it is, the machine
is a non performer.

Thx...LJ

LJ,

Personally, I'm not convinced upgrading a machine is worth it. For example,
Dell (on their small business site) has a nice P4-2.8 Dimension 2400 for
$349. It's a basic machine, but awfully nice (I have one). Upgrading is
pretty expensive.

Forget the motherboard swap, for reasons listed in the Compaq FAQ. Tom is
steering you in the right direction.
