Just a note to tell anyone NOT to buy a Radeon 9600SE they are crap, get a
9500PRO if you can find one!!!

I have just replaced the 9600SE with a 9500PRO my first 3Dmark03 score was
2855 an increase of 61%!!!!
(see below for my system details)
By the way does anyone know how to check whether a card is a 9500 or a
9500PRO? Windows, 3Dmark reckons its a 9500 not a 9500PRO?
Thanks

Or you COULD get a 9600 Pro, or a 9600 XT ...

SE usually means "Slow Edition". LOL

You serious? I thought it was Second Edition .. Better than 9600, but with
reduced price! (to make room for new cards..)..

Damn.. I bought one, and it rocks a little, for the price..

I thought SE stood for 'Standard Edition'.

I brought a 9600SE video card and it came in a colourful retail box, but it
didn't have a load of bundled software, just the driver disk.

The 9600SE is even slower than a 9200. However it does
support DX9 where the 9200 only supports DX8. So it is
a bit of a mixed bag.

SE meaning "Slow Edition" is more than just a joke,
it is the truth.

Well what you really want for cost effectivness is a standard 9500, make
sure that the memory chips are in a L-Shape pattern (2 are going vertical
and 2 are horizontal) then you can run this baby as a 9700
with 8 pipelines and better performance than a 9600, I have a standard 9500
and its running perfectly as a 9700.

U can get 9500's for around 50 Uk Pounds on ebay, but they are REALLY hard
to find.

Is it slower than 9200SE 64bit edition? Don't think so.

Remember: In the USA - it is dangeroud to draw or write about Heir Bush in a negative way. The police or SS are called, people threaten to kill you. (What country is this again?)

- 15yr old boy in Washington was disciplined for drawing such images.
- White House blows cover of an undercover agent because her husband said there were no WMD (before the USA started the war) - her job was finding terrorist. (This makes sense?)
God bless the land of the free. Where you can burn the Constitution... Ashcroft does it every day.
