LG GCC-4520B Firm Ware

Down loaded the latrest file from the LG web site for my drive. Have
both the LG and Plexor on the system. Never had any problems updating
the firm ware on the Plexor but when I did the LG upgrade it froze and
the drive turned into a boat anchor. I now see the read me says it
must be set to master and the only drive connected to the secondary
IDE channel. For people not very computer savy you would think they
could make a firm ware upgrade that you dont have to pull the drive
set it to master etc. Has any one else run into this problem with LG
firm ware upgrades. I buy a new drive.
