Could not perform fixation?
Hi everyone,
Some time ago I asked for some help on how to burn a 90 minute disc. I was able to burn the disc, but ever since I created that disc, I am stuck with the following error: could not perform fixation. The writer is a Plextor CD-R, PX-320a, and I am using Nero Burning Rom (5.5.10.56). When I try to burn a CD-R, everything goes well right until the end when the verification process starts, then it fails with the aforementioned error. Besides this error, anoter is displayed: logical unit not ready, operation in progress. The first time it occured, I thought it was because I was watching TV with my Hauppage TV card (which has given me troubles in the past), but now the error keeps occuring. The resulting disc seem to turn out fine: all files expected to be on the disc are there, can be copied and verify correctly (CRC check with other tools). How can I fix this error? I already changed the expert features to disable the overburn length (in short the tips given in http://www.ormsby.ca/spazmogen/) but that did not seem to do it. Thanks in advance for your time and trouble, Princess Morgiah PS: Here is the log that I have saved via Nero: Windows 2000 5.0 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 29/01/2003 21:37:36 Nero Version: 5.5.10.56 Recorder: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-320A Version: 1.01 - HA 1 TA 0 - 5.5.10.56 Adapter driver: atapi HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) - ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-320A Version: 1.01 - HA 1 TA 0 - 5.5.10.56 Adapter driver: atapi HA 1 Bus Type : default (0) - ATAPI, detected: ATAPI === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : IC35L080AVVA07-0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : IC35L040AVER07-0 atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : PLEXTOR CD-R PX-320A atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: CmdQueuing : 1 CmdNotification: 2 WriteBufferSize: 74448896 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 EraseSpeed : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 511MB (523740kB) Free physical memory: 164MB (168948kB) Memory in use : 67 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Static Write Speed Table: 0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Enabled (1) Wizard: On 25.6.2004 CD-ROM (ISO) 23:09:03 #1 Text 0 File Isodoc.cpp, Line 7604 Iso document burn settings ------------------------------------------ Determine maximum speed : FALSE Simulate : FALSE Write : TRUE Finalize CD : FALSE Multisession : TRUE Multisession type: : Start multisession Burning mode : TAO Mode : 1 ISO Level : 2 (Max. of 31 chars) Character set : ISO 9660 Joliet : TRUE Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : FALSE Allow more than 255 characters in path : FALSE Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE 23:09:04 #2 Phase 72 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1655 BURN-Proof activated 23:09:04 #3 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 115 Reader running 23:09:04 #4 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 125 Writer PLEXTOR CD-R PX-320A running 23:09:04 #5 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 4571 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 23:09:04 #6 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3773 Turn on Track-At-Once, using CD-R/RW media 23:09:04 #7 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 672 Setup items (original item values) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 (CTransferItem) 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original CD pos #0 + 193343 (193343) = #193343/42:57.68 relocatable, CD pos for caching/writing not required/required, no patch infos -------------------------------------------------------------- 23:09:04 #8 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 229 Last possible write address on media: 359844 (79:59.69) Last address to be written: 193342 (42:59.67) 23:09:04 #9 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 234 Write in overburning mode: FALSE 23:09:04 #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 1703 Recorder: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-320A; CDR code: 00 97 15 17; OSJ entry from: Ritek Co.
