Hi, what's opinion about 17" ones, obviously they are heavier, what are the
reasons why I should or should not buy a 17" instead of a 15.4"? Thanks a
lot in advance. - Ken

Besides the weight, there's also things like:
Battery life
Size (can be hard to get a bag to hold it, sometimes a pain to find room to
unfold it)

I've seen an Acer or Asus unit that had a 20" display... Nice, but I
wouldn't want to lug it around all the time. Of course, I've also seen the
Dell that has a 12" display, but all the rest of the "big boy" features. I
don't think I'd be as productive on that... Always trade-offs!

In short convenience and personal taste.

As I get older, bigger screens get nicer!!

I had a 15.4" Dell laptop and later upgraded to a 17" one.

In my opinion, the 15.4" was large enough. The 17" feels a little too big,
considering how close you usually sit to the screen. It was also
difficult finding a case for the thing.

If you aren't going to be moving your laptop around, then the larger
screen may be OK, and you could use an external mouse/keyboard as well.
