AN7 boot code AF w/ channel 1 RAM
I have an AN7 system that has been running for well over a year. Came
home to find it locked up. Rebooted to have it fail at code AF. I've determined that any RAM installed in either of the first two slots (channel 1) will trigger this. A single stick in the third slot (channel 2) will allow it to boot up fine (albeit more slowly). I've tried different RAM, upping the RAM voltage a notch, and making the RAM timing more conservative than STD, to no avail. Anyone else ever experience this? Sound like a MB failure or could it be attributed to CMOS/BIOS corruption? Scott |
