Ditch the POS, and try these free programs: burnatonce http://www.burnatonce.com DeepBurner http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download ========================== How Embarrassing for Roxio ========================== ========================== From: Sonia Date: 1/3/02 Subject: cannot read files after certain point on directory Good News! About 5000 of 20000 files were unreadable on the cd-rw written by ECDC. All of the same files were readable on the cd-rw written by NTI CDMaker!!! How embarrassing for Roxio. ========================== ========================= From: Sonia Subject: cannot read files after certain point on directory Date: 1/1/02 I used EasyCD Creator 4.02 (WinME) to create a CD-R, and I can't access many of the files on it. My intention was to backup a folder on my harddisk. This folder contains a little over 20,000 html files and about 3000 sub-folders. ECDC completes writing to the CD-R without complaining. ===== When I try to read some of the files off the CD-R (open or copy/paste one of the files), Windows says the file doesn't exist. I happened to do a DIR command in a dos window against the folder in the harddisk, and noticed that all the files which are inaccessible are those in sub-folders which are listed after a certain point in the DIR list: .e.g.... the DIR command lists folders v,w,x,y,z as the last folders (last folders to be created?) All files in folders upto and including W are accessible. All files in folders X,Y, and Z are not accessible. ========================= |
