Default Burning problems in XP

Hello,

I've been experiencing problems writing to a blank CD with software
like: CDRWin and Easy Audio CD Creator 6.0.

Recently I've found that (in test mode) after writing a CD with Easy
CD Creator 6.0, I can then use the 2 software mentioned above. But I
don't understand why can't I use them from the system startup without
having to "enable it this way".It seems that it can't "communicate" with the
cdrom because it doesn't write at all, but it says writing complete.

Could it be from the "drag-to-disc" (CDRW) that can't take a look in
or wathever it is?

Thanks for any reply.

How long since you did a total system reinstall? That cleans up a lot
of problems like the one you refer to. I usually do it to my computer
about once a year. I don't use a system restore disc, I actually
partition, format and reinstall from scratch. However, if you use XP,
that means that you are one reactivation closer to having the OS
permanently disabled (you get 12 reinstalls I believe, but I could be
wrong- I use Millennium Edition.)

Also, note that sometimes various CD burning programs can't coexist on
the same hard drive. A classic example is EasyCD Creator and Nero
Burning ROM. Having both at the same time can cause some real
problems, assuming that you can actually get your computer to run with
both of them installed.

Good luck!
