Default Professional Grade Sound Card?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a professional grade sound card for PCI, PCI-X, the
kind of thing you'd find in a top recording studio? No fancy features,
just good A/D converters and a clean signal path.

About ten years ago, pro cards were only available for Mac, I don't know
if this has changed?

Well, in a "top" recording studio, the PC would just serve as the
control/interface to the good stuff; rackmount or discrete equipment
rather than PC sound cards. But here are some brands that offer
audiophile grade and professional recording sound cards:

M-Audio

Lynx Studio

EMU

Digigram

RME

AudioTrak (prosumer rather than professional)

Regards,

Tim
