Default FAT Table

G'day,

A 40 gig hard-drive, partitioned up into a 10 and 30

The partition is buggered. In the ranish partition manager it see's the 30
gig, but says the boot sector is corrupt - ie, the FAT tables have gone up
the spout

Windows itself does not see it - nothing surprising there

I tried a program called Virtual Lab, which is the only one that i have
found that can "see" all my 30 gigs of dirs and files - it bypasses windows,
and reads the 303 gig'er at driver level

I simply haven't deleted files into recycle bin, then emptied that..Virtual
Lab wants $500 us dollars, and as im in Aust, I'm not paying that. Even if i
did, that $500 is to recover a "quota" of 30 gig, and once thats "used", if
another drive stuffs up, $500 again

What i need is a program that can read my (damaged partition / boot sector)
30 gig'er at driver level, , and thus restore to second, primary slave drive

What programs does anyone recommend ?
One's like RecoverMyFiles don't work

Ta,
Jeff

I've used PC Inspector File Recovery for retrieving deleted data but its not
so good if the drive is faulty.

When my Dads year-old Hard Drive went faulty we had to buy GetDataBack for
NTFS for about £70 but it was worth it
for a years worth of work recovered.

Why not just restore your backups?

Didn't make any? Then the data can't be THAT important.
